Community Cash Back Program

The Portage County Senior Center is again participating in Acme’s “Community Cash Back” program. The program runs from August 6th-December 26th, and you can either mail your receipts or drop them off.  The Portage County Senior Center is located at 705 Oakwood St. (Floor G) in Ravenna.  The office hours are currently M-F 9-3.  For more info, please call 330-297-3456.

The Portage County Senior Center continues to stay closed to activities, but is still open for calls and one on one appointments to help with support and services.  The senior center is located at 705 Oakwood St. (Floor G) in Ravenna, and their phone number is 330-297-3456.  They are available M-F from 9-3 to not only help with inquiries, but to offer a friendly ear to any senior who needs one

Senior Center will be open for Breakfast Monday mornings 7am to Noon. We will Be COVID compliant so PLEASE call 330-889-2733, as reservations are highly recommended. Temperatures will be taken at the door and anyone reading a temp of 100 deg will be turned away. Call with questions/concerned 330-889-2733.

Wing Night At The Eagles Club

Every Tuesday: 80 cent wings with purchase of a beverage– Open to public 5:00- 7:30. The Eagles Club is located at 8149 Water Street, Garrettsville.

Crestwood 4C’s New Hours

Starting September 1st Crestwood 4C’s Food Cupboard will be open Wednesdays and Fridays from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and closed on Mondays. 

American Legion Fish Dinners

American Legion Post 674 located at 9960 E. Center St in Windham will start fish dinners on Sept 4 from 4-7 pm. Dine in, carry out.  Open to the public. Call 330-326-3188 for info. 

Yoga in the Park

Saturdays

Join us for Yoga in the Park on Saturday mornings at 8 am. Open to  YMCA- members, silver sneakers, and non members welcomed (non members $5.00 drop in fee). Held at the Garrettsville Village Park (by the library) at the pavilion. Weather permitting! Program will run until the weather turns ugly.

Apple Tree Preschool  Registration Extended

It’s not too late!  Apple Tree Preschool has pushed back the start date to October and there are a couple spots open.  If you have a 3-4 year old that you would like to register and would like to find out more about our safe reopening plans, please email gumcappletree@gmail.com or call the Garrettsville United Methodist Church at (330) 527-2055.

Drive Thru Spaghetti Dinner

The Kiwanis of the Western Reserve will have  their last Drive Thru Spaghetti Dinner of this year on Friday Sept 18 4:30-6:30 *New Time*  in the Hiram Christian Church parking lot, ENTER THRU  EITHER  RT 82 OR 700/82 DRIVEWAY. Same great spaghetti with choice of meat or marinara sauce, salad, garlic bread, plus a special treat from Maggie’s Donuts. Sorry, no beverages. TAKE OUT ONLY.  $8 Adults, kids 8 and under $4.

Maple Grove Cemetery Tours

Tour the cemetery grounds from 2:00pm to 3:00pm and learn about some early and notable burials. Reed Memorial Library, in partnership with the Portage County Historical Society and Museum, will host walking tours through Maple Grove Cemetery.  This tour is for groups of 10 or less; face masks and social distancing required. The same tour will be repeated throughout the week to accommodate more people. You must register to attend a tour. This tour is weather dependent. Freedom Fall Craft Show

The Freedom Community & Park Boosters and the Freedom Township Historical Society will hosting the Freedom Fall Craft and Vendor Show on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Freedom Township grounds at the intersections of St. Rts. 88/700/303. There will be pumpkins, gourds, cornstalks, limited vendors, a 50/50 raffle, Chinese auction items and more. We will be abiding by all social distancing guidelines put in place by the Portage County Health Department. Masks are highly recommended and preferred. Annual Clam Bake

Garrettsville Eagles Club is holding their Annual Clam Bake on Oct 3.  Appetizers starting at 5:00; Dinner will be served at 6:00. Tickets are $35 each, extra dozen clams add $12. Contact an Eagles Club member for tickets.   The Eagles Club is located at 8149 Water Street, Garrettsville.
