Crestwood 4C’s

The Crestwood 4C’s provide food on an emergency basis, once a month, to needy families in the Crestwood School District. Clients must show an ID, proof of residency (Crestwood Area), and acknowledge current income figures according to guidelines. Crestwood 4C’s is located at Hilltop Church (back entrance), 4572 W. Prospect St., PO Box 227, Mantua, OH 44255. For more information, please call 330-274-3310. Crestwood 4C’s is open Mondays, 4-6pm and Wednesdays and Fridays, 1-3pm. MS Support Group 

1st Tues of Month

If you or a loved one are living with Multiple Sclerosis, join our supportive and welcoming MS Support Group in Cortland, OH. We meet in person on the first Tuesday of every month at the Cortland Library to share experiences, offer encouragement, and connect with others who truly understand the journey. Young At Heart Meetings

What can you do when someone close to you drinks too much? Al Anon may be able to help. We meet Tuesdays 7:30 -8:30 pm at the Renaissance Center 9005 Wilverne in Windham or Wednesday 7-8 pm at Hilltop Christian Church, 4572 Prospect in Mantua. Meetings are completely confidential.

Christ Lutheran Church 10827 Main St, Mantua will be offering their  Free Community Meal on on the third Wednesday of the month  from 5-6:30 pm. Please come and enjoy a wonderful meal and a  chance to visit with friends. For more info call the church at 330 274 2849.

Loaves and Fishes Community Meal

A free meal is open to all residents in Mantua, Garrettsville, Hiram and surrounding areas.  Anyone who needs to stretch their food dollars, or enjoys a homemade meal, is invited.  The meal is from 5 – 6:30pm, the last Thursday of the month, January through October, at Mantua Center Christian Church, 4118 State Route 82 in Mantua Township.  We hope to see you for good food and conversation.

Windham American Legion Fish Fry

All are welcome to join us at The American Legion Post 674 located at 9960 East Center Street in Windham.  Our Friday Fish Fry is back by popular demand!  The Fish Fry will be running from October 16, 2026 through March 26, 2007, from 4 pm to 7 pm.  Dinner costs $16.00 and is available for dine-in or take-out. Dinner includes fish or chicken or shrimp, your choice of two sides, and water or coffee.  Call-ahead ordering is available by calling 330-326-3188.

A Matter of Balance

Seniors citizens, are you concerned about falling? Interested in improving balance, flexibility, and strength? Falls are preventable, and this class can make a difference! Set realistic goals for staying active, learn how to stay safe at home, complete exercises to increase strength and balance, and learn how to identify and control your fear of falling. This class is free for all Geauga County Department on Aging registered seniors. Space is limited. Sponsored by UH Geauga Medical Center. Friends of the Garrettsville Library October  Book Sale

The Friends of the Garrettsville Library Book Sale will be held on the following dates: Friends ‘Members Only’ Presale Thursday, October 8, from 10 am to 2 pm; Open to the public Thursday, October 8, from 2 pm to 6 pm; Friday, October 9, from 10 am to 6 pm; and Saturday, October 10 from 10 am to 2 pm. MaRSI’s 2nd Friday Dinner

The Mantua Restoration Society (MaRSI) is holding their 2nd Friday Dinner, from 4 – 7pm, on Friday, October 9, 2026. This month’s dinner features mouthwatering entrees, cool salads, and delicious desserts. The Mantua Restoration Society is not permitted to charge a set amount and cannot mention what similar food might cost in a restaurant. Donations are graciously accepted. Dining in or carryout is available. The dinner is being held at the Mantua Center School Annex located at 11741 Mantua Center Road, Mantua Township. Come join us for a delicious meal and great company.

First Congregational Church UCC in Rootstown is having our monthly fund-raiser dinner on Oct 24 from 4 to 6 pm. Sit down dinners are being served, as well as carry-out and drive-thru.  Dinners are $15.00 and this month includes Roast Pork and Sauerkraut (sauerkaut cooked separately), stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, cole slaw, applesauce, green beans, dinner roll and dessert. The church is located at 4022 St Rt 44 in Rootstown Center.  If you are partaking in the drive-thru service, please enter from St Rt 44 and pull up to the back door.
