Carol A. Kazsmer (nee Newland), 87, passed away on the evening of August 10th, 2026 at Autumn Hills. She was born on December 18th, 1938 in Willoughby, Ohio to the late George F. Newland Sr. and Carol J. Smith.
She was a long term resident of Garrettsville and married the love of her life John F. Kazsmer on December 3rd, 1955 with whom she would spend nearly 45 years with until his passing on September 3rd,2000.
Carol went on to become pharmacy technician for Rite Aide.
Carol enjoyed working on her yard, painting, drawing and had a love for books.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers; Wayne Newland and George Newland, and a sister; Narda Platt.
Carol’s memory will be carried on in the hearts of her brother; Bill Bermis and nephew; Timothy Newland, as well as many other family members and friends.
Calling hours for Carol were held Monday October 19th, 2026 from 12pm to 1pm at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 8382 Center Street, Garrettsville, Ohio 44231 with a graveside service following at Park Cemetery.
