One of the most picturesque hallmark towns one can ever see, especially at Christmas time! Tucked in the Southwest corner of Trumbull County, Newton Falls’ gorgeous town square brings the storybook area to life. The sunrises & sunsets in this area are breathtaking as well. There are 2 sets of waterfalls within walking distance of the historic downtown. The waterfalls feed into different branches of the Mahoning River. It’s a sight to see in the evening when illuminated along with the water tower. The last surviving covered bridge in Trumbull County can also be found here. It was constructed in 1831 over the Mahoning River and has a few other notable titles. The Newton Falls covered bridge is the second-oldest surviving covered bridge in Ohio, the oldest still in use on its original site, and the only covered bridge in the state with a covered crosswalk. One of the few remaining WWII era USO buildings can be found here too.

This is such a quaint and charming little town with great dining and shopping. Music plays throughout the downtown, and bistro tables are set out for visitors to enjoy and take in all the scenery.

The town is home to the best fireworks in the area, which brings in over 30,000 visitors yearly. Lots of downtown events can be found here, like the Newton Falls Bike & Car Show, the Chili Cook-Off, the Spring Peddler, Autumn In The Falls, Music In The Park, and the Tree Lighting Ceremony. The downtown is in the process of being listed on the National Registry of Historic Places as well.

The historic and walkable Newton Falls is also home to the famous 44444 Zip code – one of three US zip codes in the US where all five numbers are the same. If one is looking for that small town vibe with some truly unique shops that can only be found in a small town, this is the perfect road trip, an hour south of Cleveland and an hour north of Canton, Newton Falls, OH 44444.
