The weather was picture-perfect, sunny but not hot with a nice breeze. What a beautiful day to visit your favorite small town…Newton Falls, OH 44444. The Newton Falls Area Commerce Association couldn’t have planned a better day to host Autumn In The Falls.

This reporter arrived about eleven-ish (early for Ethel!) Broad Street was closed from Canal to Four Corners Park.  Parking was available by Hair Loft as well as in the Cadle Lot. Already happy shoppers were putting their finds in their cars.  During a casual conversation, one shopper stated she really liked the car air fresheners, and they were new this year.

Looking down Broad Street, there were three rows of vendors, a row on each side and a row in the middle.  Sounds crowded, but the space was very well managed.  In addition to the vendors, the regular shops were open and quite busy.

Ethel’s initial plan was to stop by every booth, take a picture or two, and have a short conversation with the proprietors.  Another glance at a very busy Broad Street, and she quickly re-assessed her plan!  Perhaps, wander by and grab a card so more information can be collected later.  So, she comes home with pockets full of cards, some purchases, and sore feet.  All in all, a good way to spend an Autumn Saturday morning.

There was quite a mix of vendors, from authors to crafters to refreshments to ghost hunters to people emptying out their attics.  There was more to the event than just shopping.  A DJ played mellow rock; demonstrations of Tae Kwon Do were performed by New Wave Global Martial Arts,  and  FWD Ministries had activities for kids in one of the Corners.

Many thanks to event organizer, Amanda Ligouri-Makis, and all the organizers, for making this a wonderful day.

Ethel did get to talk to an up-and-coming Romance Writer, so of course sent her to meet the ladies from the Sweet Reads Society.  Talk about a match made in Heaven, or at least Newton Falls. Close enough!

So, who is behind all of the festivals and special days in Newton Falls.  Newton Falls Area Commerce Association has been the force behind many of these events.  It is an organization comprised of local businesses to support and promote Newton Falls,OH area businesses and the community.  There are many events that they plan, promote, sponsor or support throughout the year.  Stop by their Facebook Page and keep yourself up to date.  There are still plenty of events left this year; Late Night in the Falls, Cake Walk, Tree Lighting Ceremony…as NFACA President Tom Colisimo says… The Treasure is not the Treasure.  It’s the town!
