Townhall II is Celebrating 50 Years of Community Involvement

1009

Townhall II will host their 50th anniversary community celebration on October 1, 2021! The family-friendly event will be held in the Hometown Bank Plaza located at 142 N. Water Street. Festivities will begin at noon and will continue through 6pm. There will be music, snacks, fun, prizes, and blasts from the past. Townhall II promotes the health, wellness, and recovery of individuals and communities through prevention, education, advocacy, intervention, and treatment. Townhall II began as two separate grassroots efforts. The crisis line began during the 1967-68 academic year on the campus of Kent State University and soon after a drop-in center was created in the city of Kent. In 1997 Townhall II merged with Portage County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services to provide a broader spectrum of services. Townhall II is proud to have positively impacted our community through prevention programming, alcohol and drug treatment services, mental health services, crisis intervention services, and victim advocacy services. Townhall II aims to highlight our history as well as the positive impact we have had on the community during our anniversary celebration. A more formal evening event is TBD and will be announced when the details are in place.
