This is the time that many birds are moving north to nest in our area or to go further north to breed. Many travel great distances such as purple martins, many of whom have already arrived here from their winter home in the amazon basin of south america.
Spring bird walks have been going on here in north east Ohio for many decades sponsored by the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Cleveland Audubon and local parks and colleges such as Hiram College.
All folks are welcome to join us every sunday morning until the last Walk on May 17rh at the Hiram Biological station on Wheeler Rd. Just east of the College. Expert birders will be along to help you learn some of the birds we see and hear. Walks start at 7;30 am and will last about 2 hours or so.
The walks are free for all to learn and enjoy.
