Reed Memorial Library Open for Browsing

Ravenna – The Reed Memorial Library Board of Trustees recently voted to broaden access to library services, no longer requiring an appointment and making materials directly accessible once again. “We are going back to the “grab-and-go library model we adopted in June,” explained Library Director, Brian C. Hare.

Library patrons are asked to keep their visits brief. Meeting rooms, study areas, and extended visits are not available. Patrons who do not want to go inside the building can continue to use the library’s curbside pickup service and the drive-thru window. Library events will continue to be virtual.

“When the COVID-19 numbers spiked in late November, we modified our services,” explained Hare. “Now that the numbers are reduced, we adjusted once again. We adopted this phased approach, knowing that to maintain health and safety, we might need to decrease services at some point. We’re glad to safely share our public space again.”

Following ODH and CDC guidelines, the library follows a strict cleaning and sanitizing protocol. Shared surfaces are sanitized daily, with high-contact areas sanitized by staff as needed throughout the day. All returned materials are quarantined and the public is encouraged to use self-checkout stations instead of interacting with staff, when possible. The library will continue its phased approach to restarting services, moving forward again when it is deemed safe for staff and community to do so.
