PCDL Reopens to Public Again

1448

Portage County District Library (PCDL) is pleased to announce its doors will reopen to the public again on Monday, February 8. There will still be enforcement of one-hour time limits for patrons inside our branches, and occupancy limits- based on the size and layout of buildings (will vary from branch to branch)- will be used to ensure CDC guidelines are being observed.

While PCDL will be open for public browsing and computer usage, patrons will note that aisles between shelves have been marked for one-way traffic, and that some public computers will not be in use to further aid in the physical distancing between patrons. Some aspects of service, such as in-person assistance with our computers, will not be offered at this time. Plexiglass barriers have been installed at all public service desks, and all patrons are asked to stand in designated areas when interacting with library staff (to respect social distancing guidelines).

Alongside the statewide mandate for masks in public spaces, the Portage County District Library Board of Trustees has approved policy requiring the wearing of protective face coverings inside PCDL buildings, this policy applies to all patrons over the age of 2. This policy is available for review on the PCDL website. Contactless pick-up service will continue to be an available option during this time. Those unable to wear a mask for health or other reasons are encouraged to make use of this service. Any further exceptions must be requested in writing to the Library Director for consideration.
