Mantua – The Mantua-Shalersville Chamber of Commerce invites you to a social hour to meet the new officers on June 14 at 5:00 at Jake’s Eats. Randy Ellis, of Bibury & Co, will serve as President, Jodie Fiala, of Jake’s Eats, will be the Vice-President, Patrick Yackmack, of Crooked River Florists will be the Treasurer and Carrie Leister, of the R44 businesses, and Juli Robine, of Advanced Rehab, will serve as Secretaries. The first hour will be a networking/social hour and the meeting will start at 6:00.

Ellis is looking forward to promoting the business interests in the area and says he is grateful to Christine Pitsinger, past-President, for all her hard work and dedication to keeping the Chamber going for the past 15 years. She often filled all the roles in order to keep the Chamber active. The Chamber provides a vital resource to its members by securing discounts on health care and worker’s compensation, as well as shipping and other services necessary for running a business. In addition to the cost savings members realize, they gain benefits from networking opportunities and providing mutual support to one another.
Fiala is excited to be a part of the Chamber because this is an exciting time in the Mantua-Shalersville area. Besides all the work the Downtown Mantua Revitalization Committee is doing to improve the facades on Main Street, she is expecting some new neighbors in the downtown area later this summer.
The downtown Mantua businesses had been meeting as an informal group and decided that it would be better to combine with the Chamber of Commerce. According to Leister, “It seemed like we were duplicating our efforts and are hoping we can be more productive as a larger business community moving forward.”

Ellis says, “Making the Mantua-Shalersville area a great place to raise a family and a business can only be done through a collaboration of the government with the local businesses and the community. It’s our goal as a board to help our community thrive well into the future.”
