Carl Palmer, 88, of Hiram, OH, passed away on the morning of November 29, 2025, surrounded by family members. He was born August 13,1937 in Key, OH, to the late Harry and Marthalea (Stokes) Palmer.
Carl was a teacher in Garfield Heights, OH, until he retired. He was a proud 33rd degree Mason and just became eligible for his 60-year award. He married the late Gloria K. Palmer on September 15, 1956, with whom he would spend over 55 years with before her passing in 2013.
Carl is survived by his daughters, Rita (David) Shepherd of Red Bluff, CA, and Marta Truran of Hiram, OH; brother, Dale E. Palmer of St. Clairsville, OH; grandchildren, Michael (Deanna Spurgeon) DiCarro, Ashley (Chris) Money, Dustin Shepherd, Joshua (Tara) Shepherd, Shelia (Mitch) Hanes, and Kyle (Jasmine) Barnhardt; great grandchildren, Savannah Rackley, Lillie Hanes, Gunner Shepherd, Maximus Barnhardt, and Wade Shepherd, as well as great great grandchild, Indica Buff.
Carl is preceded in death by his wife; a brother, Harry O. Palmer; a daughter, Dawn Barnhardt; sons-in-law, Tom Barnhardt and Steve Truran, and a grandson, Samuel Barnhardt.
