Jenna Canale, a 16-year-old from Portage County, has been recognized with the prestigious Ohio 4-H Clothing and Textiles Achievement Award. This award also earns her the honor of being a state delegate at the 2025 National 4-H Congress in Georgia this fall. Jenna’s exceptional accomplishments were celebrated at the Ohio 4-H Achievement Awards Banquet in Columbus in June.
Jenna was selected for this distinction due to her remarkable seven-year involvement in the 4-H clothing and textile project area. Her achievements include multiple commendations such as the Clock Trophy and Outstanding of the Day awards in the categories of Dress Up Day and Clothing for Middle School. She also won the 2023 Ohio 4-H Consumer Clothing Award, earned the 2024 Portage County Champions of Champions Sewing Award, placed first in Portage County in multiple sewing projects, and served as a State Fair delegate for many projects. Additionally, Jenna has been recognized with Outstanding Sewing Construction Awards and Outstanding 4-H Project Book Awards at the Portage County level. She was additionally selected as a member of the Ohio 4-H State Fashion Board, an honor that recognizes her exceptional skills, dedication, and leadership within the 4-H clothing program.
The daughter of Mike and Jodi Canale, Jenna is a sophomore at Southeast High School, where she maintains a 4.0 GPA. Beyond her academic success, she is president of the Edinburg Seambusters 4-H Club, a member of the Portage Prime Producers 4-H Club, and member of the Portage County Junior Fairboard. Jenna also takes on the role of a 4-H camp counselor and participates in various projects, including sewing, market animal projects such as turkeys, goats, and swine, along with other 4-H life skills projects.
Jenna’s contributions extend beyond 4-H. At school, she is active in cross country, basketball, track, and danceline. Her leadership roles include participation in the climate change group, leadership club, student council, and serving as class treasurer. Jenna also contributes to community-focused clubs such as the Leos Club and Fellowship of Christian Students.
