Looking for an entertaining, educational, & fun filled late afternoon/evening coupled with a vaired and delicious array of the area’s best soups and salads, then attend SHS’s Soup Supper on Friday September 18.  Doors will open at 4:30 with renowned barn painter Dr. Robert Kroeger presenting a series of true stories  (some funny, all interesting and informative) about barns he has painted.  The buffet style Soup Supper, prepared by Shalersville’s best cooks, will be open about 5 PM.  Typically, the Soup Supper features ten delicious homemade soups served with a variety of salads and desserts.  Admission is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for kids, kids under 5 -free.  If you arrive at 4:30, you can listen, eat & still have time to attend the local football games.

Shalersville Historical Society in conjunction with Mantua & Freedom Historical Societies is presenting a program on the HOLOCAUST Monday September 28 at 7 PM at the Shalersville Town Hall.  Featured speaker is Susan Kollin Wiegand, the child of Holocaust survivors.  She will share her parents’ remarkable story of strength, courage and survival during the Holocaust.  She will speak about the atrocities they endured, the resilience that enabled them to survive, and the ways those ecperiences shaped their lives forever.  The program is free and open to the public; no reservations are necessary.  This facility is air-conditioned and completely handicap accessible.  We hope you will be able to attend this interesting and informative program.  Questions?  Call Judy @ 330.527.7669 & LMOM.
