Marshall Quinn

Marshall Quinn, a 2009 JAG graduate and self-described nerdy art kid has made his way back home to Garrettsville. “I struggled to find my path after high school,” Quinn noted. He admits that he spent his youth wanting to get out of Garrettsville. “Tattoo art kind of fell in my lap.” His first step was when a cousin brought him into a family-owned tattoo shop in Champion. His next move was to a larger shop in Ravenna. Over the years, he worked hard to learn the craft and hone his skills. “That hard work has built a solid foundation,” he shared. Coming home is “kind of surreal, but also very grounding.” Opening his own shop feels very organic — like the next step in his progression.

As for the shop’s name, Quinn noted that Much Love summed up the mission to share love, respect, and good vibes in his hometown. “I’ve always loved art,” he noted. Quinn credits the life he shares with his wife Lyndsay and their children (her four from a previous marriage and the couple’s twin girls) as a huge part of that homeward journey. Earlier in life, I never thought I’d be a dad at all,” he shared. “But fatherhood has been everything and more – the cherry on top.” Stepdaughter Amy Mangeri (a 2023 JAG graduate) works with him since becoming his apprentice two years ago.

Quinn’s love of art helps him create the bubbly color work and flowy designs he’s known for. He explained that an intricate design may take multiple appointments to complete. As such, getting a tattoo can be a very personal, intimate process. In that time, it’s common to build friendships. “It’s nice to be there for people,” Quinn notes, “to listen to their struggles, give them space to talk, cry, or laugh…to be a good human.” It’s those heartfelt interactions that make clients and friends agree that the shop’s name of “Much Love” really suited him.

“There’s a lot of crazy s$%t going on in the world. I want my shop to be a safe place for all who enter. And a safe space for nerdy art kids, too.

Much Love opens this weekend during Summer Fest. They’ll have eight tattoo artists doing pre-drawn flash for $40 – $150 depending on size and placement. Anyone who tours the shop will receive a raffle ticket. The winning ticketholder will receive a gift card for a free palm-sized tattoo of their choice. In addition, nearly a dozen vendors will be at an open-air market outside the shop selling items and services ranging from ceramics and glass etchings to psychic readings and massage therapy.
