Elite Pharmacy relocates to Memory Lane Complex

Elite Pharmacy is on the move—but not far. Just 2 minutes (with traffic) from its current location, the pharmacy will officially open its doors at 1 Memory Lane, Suite 500, on June 23. The new space is part of the healthcare and wellness complex that also houses TLC Health & Fitness Club and several medical providers.

Though the pharmacy is relocating a short distance, the change is significant. Elite Pharmacy will now be under the same roof as internist Dr. Annette Andrews, family medicine physician Dr. Jeff Ellerhorst, eye specialist Dr. Tim Andrews, and several nurse practitioners.

“We all work independently, but it’s like a team effort,” said Elite Pharmacy owner and Windham Zoning Inspector Jake Sweet. “They handle the medical side, and we handle the prescriptions. Together, it benefits both our patients and theirs.”

Elite will remain open at its current location until June 21, with the move taking place over the weekend. The new location will provide approximately 500 additional square feet, which Sweet said will be put to good use.

The added space and proximity to TLC Fitness will allow the pharmacy to expand its product offerings, including compression socks, protein supplements, energy drinks, and vitamins. It also means more room for staff to work and a larger consult and vaccination room for patients.

“Things are moving faster for patients now,” Sweet explained. “With our upgraded technology, we can work more efficiently behind the scenes—even if patients don’t see it directly.”

Sweet said that Elite Pharmacy still is locked into a lease in its former location but is open to sub-leasing the space to another business.

The opportunity to relocate came after discussions with leadership at TLC Health & Fitness Club, who encouraged Elite Pharmacy to join the cluster of healthcare providers in the Memory Lane complex.

“It’s really a perfect fit,” said Sweet. “Having multiple providers in one place makes things easier for everyone—patients, doctors, and our pharmacy team. We can now talk to your doctor just down the hall. Plus, having the gym next door opens even more opportunities.”

Elite Pharmacy’s move is the latest step in its growth since opening two years ago.  Shortly after Elite Pharmacy opened, the Windham Pharmacy closed, and most of its patients had their prescriptions transferred to the Rite Aid on North Street. Rite Aid went out of business last August, making Elite Pharmacy the closest local pharmacy in the area.

“Our customer base has tripled since then,” said Sweet. “We’ve hired three or four new staff members and are still seeing new customers coming in who were sent to Aurora’s Walgreens after Rite Aid closed. Whether it’s the distance or dissatisfaction with service, they’re finding their way to us.”

A lifelong Windham resident, Sweet said it’s been deeply fulfilling to serve his own community.

“We’re committed to the community—and that’s easy when you live here and are part of it,” he said. “Whether it’s zoning or pharmacy, this is my home.”
