Happy New Rotary Year was the general tenor of the January 6, 2025 meeting of the Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary and it was conveyed by District Governor Dale Smith in his address focussing on the “Magic of Rotary” in the community and in the world. Outreach adventures such as Polio Plus, aiming to eradicate that deadly disease can be achieved by growing Rotary in new ways, with outreach formats and partnerships, companion clubs, auxiliary memberships, planning and disaster prep–new ways of seeing the world and the neighborhood…and contributing to the Rotary Endowment which is the source of grants to do even more. Invitation was given to attend an upcoming district meeting to put this all in motion. Introductions and individual histories with Rotary filled much of the remaining time; a remembrance in lieu of flowers will be going to Arizona for the Dave James, father of local member Lisa Muldowney.
Happy Bucks came in for an array of blessings : great parties, long phone calls, an upcoming EMA meeting, People Tree shopping, a new grandbaby, Christmas gifts & conversations, an accomplished return trip, the Buckeyes’ win, community support, a New Year, Spring on the way.
