Twentieth Century Club to Explore “All Around Town”

1934

Ladies of the Twentieth Century Club of Garrettsville met on August 24, 2023 at the home of newly-elected president Kathy Countryman for their annual Summer Get Together to launch the new 2023-2024 club year. This event traditionally is an occasion for connection and conversation as well as introducing the programs and program booklets for the upcoming year. Since the weather was a bit inclement, the activities were all inside but the floral and foliage displays inside and out contributed to the festive air of the proceedings.

The incoming officers of the club–Kathy Countryman, Mary Furillo, Anne Rubin, Carol Smith, Iva Walker, Leah Schultz and Pat Amor–were responsible for the planning and presentation of the event and saw to the distribution of the program booklets to all members in attendance.

Members of the calendar committee–Jane Hill, Karen Ziarko, Betty Clapp, Linda Fitt and Connie Crate–were responsible for the planning and production of the programs. The program for the coming year focused on the theme of “All Around the Town”, introducing local people and places which can be enjoyed and/or employed by all

The next meeting will be Guest Night, to be held on September 21, at the Garrettsville United Methodist Church at 8223 Park Ave., Garrettsville. Invitations to the event were distributed, with a request for R.S.V.P. replies, ASAP.
