Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary Report

1633

Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary tip-toed into the 21st Century under duress, when a limited number of members got together online (zoom) to discuss a limited number of topics relating to the current situation vis-a-vis the novel corona virus/ Covid-19.

There was discussion of the legal ramifications of the rules of isolation as they pertain to meetings of government entities and other organizations.  What is Council doing?  What is it allowed to do? What can the school board do?  How will the school year end?  Big questions…no answers yet.  We’ll all be working our way through this one step at a time.  From Rotary International on down,  meetings and directives are being cancelled, re-scheduled and re-purposed as circumstances warrant.  Projects and plans for next year will, undoubtedly, reflect the events of the pandemic in one manner or another–across the board.

Members on board for this ground-breaking meeting were Tom Collins (Host), Amy Crawford, Amy Turos (with her “helpers”) and Ted Lysiak.  This humble scribe was able to see and hear but not be seen or heard (probably a blessing) because of technical issues.  Will try to be updated for the next one.

Onward and upward!
