Windham – Windham United Methodist Church held their Annual Breakfast with Santa earlier this month at the Renaissance Family Center (RFC). According to Judy Blewitt, they have been doing the breakfast with Santa for more than 20 years. The “elves” began Friday night setting up the cafeteria room at RFC. They decorated the room, getting it all Christmassy for Santa and all the kiddos. I must say, they did a great job.
The breakfast was held from 8 am until noon. They served cereal, French toast stix, and an egg casserole. They had juice and milk as well. While the kids were waiting on Santa to arrive, they could make some holiday crafts, make a decorated gift bag and write a letter to Santa. The church would take the letters back to their church and have their congregation bless them before getting them off to the Jolly Ole Elf.
Once Santa arrived, it was game on! Some kids ran right up to him other ran the other way. Big grins and smiles with some tears from those who were afraid. Big and small, Santa saw them all. After visiting with Santa, the kids received a coloring book, crayons, candy cane, a Happy Birthday Jesus pencil and an orange.
