Windham – Windham’s 5th Annual Parade of Lights was held this past Sunday evening. The parade “stepped off from Dollar General being led by Windham’s grass fighter, followed by the Windham marching band. The parade had several interesting floats. One was Dixies Diner depiction of the Christmas Story. Ashley Eisenbarth, the owner, left no stone unturned, on the float, she even included the leg lamp and the bunny suit.

Another one was Christmas for the deployed servicemen and his family while he is deployed. Sheila Moore had two scenes on the float.  The first scene depicted the of the family at home missing and thinking about their deployed serviceman and the second one depicted a serviceman all alone at night on guard thinking of his family. It was an awesome float.

The Lions Club had their sleigh, while the township and village each had a Christmas themed floats as well. The parade ended in front of the community center where the “Polar Express” train rides were running. Inside the community center, there were cookies, hot cocoa, and hot dogs being served to everyone. Also, they had tables where the kids could write letters to Santa, make a Christmas craft and tell Santa all their Christmas wishes.
