Santa Pub Crawl a Success

2585

Garrettsville – Christmas celebrating began just a little early, as bout 70 folks took to the streets of Garrettsville this past Saturday to help raise funds for Garrettsville Summerfest in the Annual Santa Pub Crawl. The 70 “dressed in their best” or as some would say, worst Christmas outfits — left Skylanes Lounge (first stop on the crawl) to hit up the other four designated businesses. They were all trying to get the best poker hand.  At each place they went to each crawler would pick a card and the dealer would mark their papers as to what was drawn. While there they were offered a specialty drink or special pricing on drinks as they made their way through town.

The crawlers returned to Sky Plaza Lounge, turned in their official player’s papers to see who had the best hand and then sat down for a catered dinner.  While eating dinner, they could participate in Karaoke or just be “serenaded”.  While many of the karaoke participants showed some signs of talent, others, well, let’s just say they need to keep their day jobs. The karaoke went on well into the evening making it a great way to start the holiday season.

Other ways the crawlers could help Garrettsville Summerfest was to participate in the Chinese auction or the 50/50 raffle. The evening raised nearly $2000 for Garrettsville Summerfest.

The winners of the evening: best poker hand with a full house was Kristine Smith, best Costume, Lori Hernansky, most obnoxious was Chuck Robinson and Brian Sterrett. The 50/50 winner was Andy Kristoff. It was a fun event and everyone had a great time.
