The October 28, 2019 meeting of the Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary was focused on final details of the upcoming Reverse Raffle. Accounting for tickets still out, tickets sold and specifics of steak or chicken for dinners (Thursday deadline), last-minute arrangements and supplies–all small but important items were being addressed. The regular Wednesday meeting will go on as usual. Tickets are still available for the good times.
In other business: The Dictionary Project is alive and well; dictionaries have been ordered and distribution is being arranged–always an exciting day. There may be some assistance from the Ronald McDonald Foundation. Mike Keas has agreed to, once again, be Santa for the Rotary gift visits on Christmas Eve, eve. Start thinking about making arrangements for the Jolly Old Elf to visit your house; contact any Rotarian. MBRealty has milkweed seeds, courtesy of Adam Wohlever, to welcome Monarch Butterflies. Where to put them (at the Headwaters Trailhead?) was a topic. The Rotary involvement in the Rose Bowl Parade is seeking contributions and volunteers. John and Amy Crawford attended a Tri-District Membership Summit in Kent, where they acquired information and, perhaps, gave as good as they got. A thank you from Kim Curry, recipient of the recent Unsung Hero Award, was read.
There was a first-person video of the Crawfords & Robert Irvine at the Restaurant Impossible opening dinner at the Mill as part of the Happy Bucks…with a shout-out to Lisa Muldowney. Other $ noted a grandson going to state band competition, a son visiting Marietta College, a conversation with exchange student Natalie, the joy and the color of the season.
