Portage County – Portage County District Library is excited to announce that hoopla digital has been added to its digital library. Library users with a valid Portage County District Library card are invited to enjoy free digital movies, music albums, eBooks, and audiobooks using this new digital service. All are available for mobile and online access through this partnership with hoopla digital, a division of Midwest Tape.

Portage County District Library cardholders may download the free hoopla digital mobile app on their Android or IOS device or visit www.hoopladigital.com to begin enjoying thousands of titles- from major Hollywood studios, recording companies, and publishers- available to borrow 24/7 for instant streaming or temporary downloading to their smartphones, tablets, and computers. You may borrow ten hoopla selections per month with your Portage County District Library card. Movies are available on your device for three days; music for seven days; and eBooks and audiobooks for three weeks. The borrowing limits reset the first day of the calendar month.

To get started borrowing movies, music, eBooks, and audiobooks right away on your mobile device, download the free hoopla digital app from the App Store on an Android or IOS device. Simply select “Sign Up” to create your account. For computer users, visit www.hoopladigital.com to set up your free account. Select “Portage County District Library” as your library. Once your account has been created, you’re ready to begin downloading free digital content. For more information, read hoopla FAQs at www.hoopladigital.com/support.

“We’re always looking for new resources that help us to promote reading, learning and discovery throughout our service areas,” said Sue Ann Schiely, Public Relations & Outreach Services Manager at Portage County District Library. “Our new partnership with hoopla digital helps us to fulfill this mission by offering stimulating and entertaining titles that educate and inspire. The service’s easy-to-use interface and elimination of late fees also enable us to satisfy all of our patron’s needs in a modern way.”

“With hoopla digital, it is our mission to empower the evolution of public libraries while helping them to meet the needs of the mobile generation. We’ve worked for years to create a best-in-breed service that is fun, fast and reliable.  And we continue to secure content deals to expand our offering of popular and niche movies, TV shows, music, eBooks, audiobooks and comics,” said Jeff Jankowski founder and owner of hoopla digital.
