The Zachary D. Peterson Memorial Scholarship Committee is proud to announce the recipients of the 2026 Zachary D. Peterson Memorial Scholarships. This year’s awards recognize eight outstanding students from Crestwood and Windham High Schools who will be attending Maplewood Career Center this fall to pursue careers in AutomotiveService Technology or Small Engine Repair fields.
Representing Crestwood High School are Gianna Huffman, Ryan Goodell, Evan Eacott, Bentley Yarick, and Jacob Lang (not pictured).
Scholarship recipients from Windham High School are Deven Moon, Malikye Petrich, and Derick Marshall.
Each recipient will receive a professional tool kit along with coverage of their Maplewood Career Center program fees through the Zachary D. Peterson Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is designed to help students begin their technical education with the equipment and financial support needed to succeed in the classroom and the shop.
The scholarship honors the memory of Zach Peterson, a James A. Garfield High School graduate whose passion for automobiles and helping others continues to inspire future generations. Through the generosity of supporters and the success of the annual Zachary D. Peterson Memorial Car Show, the scholarship continues to remove financial barriers for students pursuing careers in the automotive industry.
The 3rd Annual Car Show will be held on Labor Day, September 7th, at the Nelson Ledges Race Track from noon – 5pm.
