Farmington Senior Center Breakfasts

The Senior Center is open for breakfast Mondays from 7a-Noon. A full menu is offered from scrambled eggs to Belgian waffles. Lunches are served T-TH from 11a-1p only $5-plate includes homemade soup or salad, entrée, dessert and beverage. Menu for the week is posted on Facebook, or just call 330-889-2733.

MS Support Group 

1st Tues of Month

If you or a loved one are living with Multiple Sclerosis, join our supportive and welcoming MS Support Group in Cortland, OH. We meet in person on the first Tuesday of every month at the Cortland Library to share experiences, offer encouragement, and connect with others who truly understand the journey. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been managing MS for years, this group provides a safe space for conversation, resources, and community. Light refreshments will be provided.  Our first meeting is Tuesday April 7, 2026, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at:

Young At Heart Meetings

Al Anon Meetings

What can you do when someone close to you drinks too much? Al Anon may be able to help. We meet Tuesdays 7:30 -8:30 pm at the Renaissance Center 9005 Wilverne in Windham or Wednesday 7-8 pm at Hilltop Christian Church, 4572 Prospect in Mantua. Meetings are completely confidential.

Loaves and Fishes Community Meal

A free meal is open to all residents in Mantua, Garrettsville, Hiram and surrounding areas.  Anyone who needs to stretch their food dollars, or enjoys a homemade meal, is invited.  The meal is from 5 – 6:30pm, the last Thursday of the month, January through October, at Mantua Center Christian Church, 4118 State Route 82 in Mantua Township.  We hope to see you for good food and conversation.

Mantua Historical Society Open

The Mantua Historical Society is now open on Thursday mornings from 10am to 12noon for our weekly history club meetings. At these meetings, we learn about local history, preserve it, plan events, and coordinate efforts with other community organizations. We are always looking for volunteers to join us. The Mantua Historical Society is located upstairs (not handicap accessible) in the Mantua Township Hall, 4122 State Route 82, Mantua, OH 44255. Blues Concert

Got the Blues? We have the cure! Come celebrate spring with the Federated Democratic Women, April 30th from 6 – 9 pm at Hobbs Hall, Unitarian Universalist Church, 228 Gougler Ave, Kent, OH.  Music provided by the Akron based  Americana Blues and Roots duo Grady Miller. This event will include a reception with our Democratic Candidates. Tickets are $20 per person and can be paid by cash, check or Act Blue. $50 to help more and $100 to be a sponsor.

IDEA Funds Meeting

May 14

James A. Garfield School District will be holding a public meeting on May 14, 2026 at 4:15pm. This will provide the opportunity for questions/comments regarding the spending of IDEA funds for our district before the monthly board meeting. Please join us at the Elementary PD Center.

MSFD Open House

June 27

The Mantua-Shalersville FD will hold an open house at the fire station to celebrate the department’s 125th anniversary on June 27, 2026, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. The station is located at 10303 SR 44 just south of Mantua Village. There will be the normal open house activities but the star of the show will be an operating 1887 Amoskeag 700 GPM steam pumper, operated by longtime WRFB member Ted Elder. Please join us and help us celebrate this milestone event.
