970

The members of the Experimental Aviation Association Chapter 5 are proud to announce enrollment for their annual week-long day camp for middle school students (going into grades 7 through 11) who are interested in flying.

The EAA Chapter 5 Summer Youth Aviation Camp will take place July 6-10 for new campers at the Geauga County Airport in Hangar 3 from 9:00 am to 3:45 pm and is designed for kids with a real interest in AVIATION!

Students will actively participate in learning about aerodynamics, parts of a plane, the engine, flight operations, careers in aviation; will develop skills in map reading, riveting, woodworking & building; and will be given opportunities to tour the airport facilities and to “fly” on flight simulators.

There will also be daily activities such as glider flying contests & scientific experimentation, as well as fun recreational activities. After the camp, there will be an opportunity for campers to take a Young Eagle Flight (parental permission given and weather permitting) on Saturday, July 11th, with Sunday, July 12th as the rain date.

Space in the camp is limited to 18 students to allow for more hands-on opportunities. Registration forms and $150 fee due by Thursday, May 14th, 2026.

A T-shirt, hat and supplies are included; participants should bring their own lunch, though snacks will be provided. Scholarships available.

Corporations, businesses or individuals who would like to be a SYAC Sponsor should inquire about different levels available.
