Kyle Wilke, who oversees the rental business at S & K noted that his parents Brian and Pam, opened the shop before he was born. Having grown up with the business, Kyle has had the opportunity to work on and with all manner of equipment. “I like the variety,” he noted. “I could be woarking on a lawn mower one day, and an excavator the next.”
This year, Kyle wanted to take that equipment knowledge and add even more value by offering something that no other local business does. Instead of renting equipment from an out-of-town company, you can shop at S & K and get started on your project that much faster. “Most of our rental customers know what they need,” Kyle shared, “but if they’re not sure, we can suggest the right tools for their particular job.”
Kyle noted that homeowners with large acreage who need specialized equipment for particular job find this service useful. He also added that commercial property owners benefit from renting infrequently needed equipment, with considerable cost savings to buying expensive equipment that may sit idle for much of the year. Smaller equipment can be borrowed for a half day or day, with larger equipment rentals available for a week or longer, as needed. S&K Sales & Service offers delivery and pick-up of equipment, making project completion that much quicker to begin; the rental process only requires a credit card and driver’s license.
This family business opened its doors in 2007 with a single line of lawn mowers and handheld power equipment and has rapidly grown to include some of the top brands in lawn equipment. Today, S&K encompasses more than 14 acres, with well over 20,000 square feet under cover. The 7,000 square feet showroom is stocked with equipment throughout the year.
