Ravenna Job and Family Services Announces Public Assistance Phone Line Changes

292

Portage County Job and Family Services is announcing a schedule adjustment for certain Public Assistance interview phone lines. This change will allow eligibility staff to dedicate time to process cases, documents, verifications, and case actions.

Beginning Thursday, June 11, 2026, all Public Assistance interview lines will close at 12:00 PM each Thursday only. This adjustment is intended to give staff protected processing time so they can focus on completing work that directly impacts residents’ benefits and service needs. This adjustment aims to improve overall service by giving staff time to process pending work more efficiently, reduce delays, and better serve residents who are waiting for case actions to be completed. Medicaid interview lines will continue to operate Monday through Friday during normal business hours, any calls after 12:00 PM will be answered by our AHS partners.

This change applies only to interview phone lines. Portage County Job and Family Services will continue to provide lobby services, customer service support, and assistance with urgent needs during normal business hours. Residents are encouraged to call earlier in the day when possible and to continue submitting documents through the available options, including online, by mail, by fax, by drop box, or in person.

Portage County Job and Family Services appreciates the public’s patience and understanding as this process is implemented. For further information, please contact Alex McArthur at 330-297-6011.
