Professional Development Center Dedicated To Charles Klamer

260

Garrettsville – On Thursday, May 12, 2022 the James A. Garfield Local Schools dedicated their local training center to long-time superintendent, Chuck Klamer, who recently passed away.  Chuck was a catalyst for the James A. Garfield Local school district who transformed and brought about a great deal of positive change in the school district, including financial improvement, levy passage and excellence in education. Mr. Klamer will likely be best remembered for never missing the name of a student.

In a very important way, Mr. Klamer was an integral part of the building even though he was retired before it was built.

The dedication was significant to the community and school. This building was constructed for two reasons – first, to bring people together and second, make the school better.  It is fitting that these are the two things that Mr. Klamer will be remembers for.  He had a unique ability for bringing people together and making things better.

By dedicating the space in Mr. Klamer’s name, stories of his accomplishments, dedication to this school and commitment to our community and kids will be shared generations from now, just as stories are shared about former superintendent Orson Ott or even James A. Garfield himself.

The Charles C. Klamer Professional Development Center was unveiled in the presence of several Garfield staff members, board members, his family and close friends.
