The Portage Foundation will begin accepting grant and scholarship applications now through April 16, 2021. On-line applications for grants and scholarships are available at: https://portagefoundation.org/grants-and-scholarships/.
“We are thrilled with the individuals that established endowed grant funds and scholarships at the Portage Foundation” says Debbie Smeiles, president. “Because of their support, we are able to provide approximately $40,000 in spring grant funding and approximately $75,000 in scholarship support this year.”
The Portage Foundation has 11 focus areas in which grant and scholarship support is available. “The amount of available funding in each category varies and organizations submitting grants should consider requests ranging from $500 to $2,500” says Dr. Angela DeJulius, chair, Grants and Scholarship Committee. “Our newly developed on-line application will make it much easier for organizations to submit their requests.”
The Foundation’s endowed scholarship program offers 13 distinct scholarships to local high schools, colleges and universities. “The majority of our scholarships are available to high school seniors” said Lindsey Loftus, executive director. “Area students and parents should take a look at the Foundation’s web page and review all the available scholarship opportunities.”
