Ravenna – In an effort to follow Governor DeWine’s and the Ohio Department of Health’s Director Dr Acton’s recommendations to flatten the curve and lessen the spread of COVID-19, the Portage County Health District will be temporarily discontinuing walk-in services to the public. This will be effective Monday, March 23rd, until further notice.

Necessary, in-person meetings will be provided by appointment only. We encourage the use of our website at www.portagehealth.net and phone services at 330-296-9919. Call 330-296-9919 to schedule an appointment if needed.

We feel that this is an effective method to prevent the spread of illness and potential exposure, both to our customers and our staff.

Portage County Health District is considered to be part of the critical infrastructure needed to support and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our staff will continue to work every day; some as part of our COVID-19 Response Team and others will be maintaining regular administrative and programmatic activities.

Please note, the Portage County and Columbiana County WIC offices remain open and are continuing to issue benefits, by appointment only. When a client arrives for their appointment, please call the office and the WIC staff will meet you at your car. Infants and children do not need to attend the appointment.

For up-to-date information about COVID-19, including resources for health care workers, community and faith-based organizations, etc., go to the Portage County Health District website at www.portagehealth.net, the Ohio Department of Health website at: https://odh.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/odh/home and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website at  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/index.html.
