Mantua – In this time of uncertainty, families may struggle to find a sense of normalcy. Adjusting to sheltering at home, usual springtime activities like yard work and garden planning may help pass the time and remind us of our typical springtime activities. Some may begin thinking of planting flowers or tending a vegetable garden. In times of stress, it’s easy to agree with Audrey Hepburn who said, “To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.”
There’s no time like this spring, with time on your hands, to get your hands dirty and fill those empty pots with colorful geraniums or verbena to deck out your deck or patio planters. And that small backyard garden plot is the perfect place to plant some heirloom tomatoes or lettuce or herbs for your summer garden. If you’re an experienced gardener, or you’ve always wanted to have a green thumb, this is your season to get started.
That being said, the folks at Pochedly Greenhouse have been busy planting flowers, veggies, and herbs, and have a full selection to choose from. They are working on an online ‘store’ that allows you to browse their plants online and place your local order. This spring, they’ll offer curbside pickup that will allow customers to pickup their plants at the greenhouse. They’ve developed this process in order to keep people safe, provide local access to flower, herb, and vegetable plants, while reducing the risk of exposure to Covid-19 for themselves and their customers.
To place an order, browse the online store on their website. Once your items have been selected, you can pay by credit card online or can choose to pay by cash or check when you pick your order up at their greenhouse on Vaughn Road in Hiram. Once your order has been placed, you’ll receive an order acknowledgement via email. When your order is ready for pick up, you’ll be notified by email. Pull into an online order spot, and once you provide your name, associates at the greenhouse can load your order into you car and you’ll be on your way home to start planting.
Pochedly Greenhouse will begin accepting orders for seeds and cold-weather vegetables, like cabbage, broccoli, and brussel sprouts on April 15th. They will begin accepting orders on their full selection of vegetables, flowers, and herbs beginning on May 1st.
