Move with Monarchs: Get up close to the incredible insects that call Geauga Meadows home

It’s so thrilling to find an insect you’ve never seen before, or one you’ve always wanted to see up close. One sweep of the net can reveal amazing insects that are more often heard than seen. What will you find?

Catch up with this season’s stunning Monarch butterflies and more during Monarchs & Meadow Insects – at Frohring Meadows on Sunday, September 10, from 12:30 to 4 p.m.

Together you and your friends or family are invited to use our nets (or your own) to catch a variety of butterflies, grasshoppers, praying mantids, katydids, beetles and other native pollinators and meadow insects. Join in at any time without registration, noting that rain will cancel the program. We recommend wearing sun protection, socks, hats and long pants for moving through the meadow.

Plus, should you catch a Monarch, a naturalist will be on hand to help tag and release it. Provide your contact information to be notified if your Monarch is later recovered in Mexico!
