If history with a beer sounds interesting, then join us at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 19 at Garrett’s Mill & Brewing Co. in Garrettsville for the second of a series of free Tap Talks co-sponsored by James A. Garfield Historical Society and the Mill.
Monkeys, a ferris wheel and an arcade—oh my! Ohio was home to dozens of small amusement parks from the late 1800’s through the 1970’s, and one was just outside of Garrettsville: Nelson Ledges Amusement Park.
The park is long gone, but the memories remain. We’ll hear stories from the women whose family owned the park, what it was like to work there, where the monkeys slept and more.
Space is limited, reservations are required and can be made for the event starting on Tuesday, May 5. Please call the Mill at 330-527-8080 by Friday, May 15 to reserve your spot. The speaker will start at 6:00, plan to come early to take advantage of great appetizer specials between 2 and 6 pm.
