We want to announce the passing of Joseph Kolenc. Blessed with vibrant good health all his life, he passed at age 90 after a sudden unexpected illness on May 4, 2026.
A long time resident of Hiram, he moved to Brookpark to be close to family. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid reader.
He loved dining out, especially breakfast. Chocolate chip pancakes and blueberry blintzes were his favorites.
He worked in the paint industry retiring at 70. Volunteered at the 4C’s food cupboard for years which was near and dear to him. He led a quiet, peaceful life.
He was preceeded in death by his brother Louis, his twin Ronald, and his son Paul.
Survived by his sister Carolyn (Rick) Monreal and many nieces and nephews.
He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Barbara and beloved son Edward (Heather),
