Lance Corporal Jacob D. Merryman, 34, of Garrettsville, formerly of Richfield, passed away in his sleep of natural causes on Friday, June 24, 2022. He was born July 17, 1987, in Parma, to Daniel and Roberta “Bobbi” (nee Edgar) Merryman.

He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, following in his grandfather’s footsteps by serving his country. Jake was a loving son, brother, father, and friend; those who were lucky enough to have him in their lives will forever miss him.

Jake will be deeply missed by his parents, only brother, Robert (Jen) Merryman, and many relatives, including aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his precious son, Leon.

Jake is to be cremated, then privately inurned at the Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville with full military honors, where he will be laid to rest with his son, Leon. Care for Jake was entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
