Thanks went to Barb Walker for her “Tap Talks” information and arrangements.
Christmas Walk dates, prices & times–including the Candlelight Walk and ornaments to be offered–were discussed.
And, speaking of “Tap Talks”…a near-capacity crowd was in attendance at The Mill for the “Cradle to Grave” presentation on April 21 highlighting the Garfield Trail stretching from the birthplace (Moreland Hills) to Hiram College (education), to the Mentor farm family home now part of the National Park Service, to the burial place (Lakeview Cemetery) of our nation’s twentieth President, James A. Garfield. There were posters, exhibits, pictures (the Garfield-Robbins-Zimmerman house), costumed personages (Lucretia Garfield) and the great grandson (Tim Garfield) of the President as part of the presentation. Sponsors were listed as Morgan Litho of Clevelad, Drone Ohio, the National Park Service, Carla Vondrak Garfield and Debbie Weinkammer. Visitor swag–magnets, baubles, puzzles, etc.– was available, as was online information –mhhsohio.org, hiram.edu, nps.gov/jaga, lakeviewcemetery.com.
Very informative, entertaining and worthwhile. Watch for more.
