Happy Birthday Garrettsville Rotary

320

Festive, it was at the Garrett’s Mill Brewing Company on June 11, 2026, celebrating the 100th birthday of Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary Club; 1926–2026 is a landmark stretch for any organization, particularly one so connected to the community and so involved with good works.

Guests were there representing grand pooh-bahs of District 6630: 2027-2028 District Governor Richard Arlen Cole, Jr.,and District Governor -in-waiting, Carrie Heppner, as well as local worthy Bob Jackson, a past district governor and founder of the RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award).

Attendees were treated to an excellent social ambiance, varied food selections, a heckuva cake and great views of the waterway below. Also a treat was the well-researched and comedically-presented history of the local Rotary club by Pam Montgomery, the researcher herself. She included details of the original founders, their enterprises and their pictures, as well as projects up to the present day by recent and current club members and projects of Rotary International. She is sure that no mistakes were made in researching all of these good works. Her presentation was accompanied by Jeff Drebus at the video keyboard.

And the beat goes on…..RYLA will be at Hiram College soon, G-HR is planning their current projects and their Reverse Raffle for November. It’s all good.

New members are more than welcome!
