Garrettsville Summerfest’s Tractor Parade has a New Sponsor

2637

Garrettsville – Early in June, a rumor began circulating that the annual tractor parade held on Saturday afternoon at Garrettsville Summerfest was cancelled, that rumor is FALSE! Contrary to the rumor, the tractor parade will roll through town as it has since 2007! This spring the Summerfest Committee was forced to make some changes to ensure that this event was being operated in accordance to their by-laws and non-profit status.
The McCumbers Brady Realty Group (MB Realty) has agreed to sponsor, organize and manage the tractor parade. There will be a few changes regarding registration for the event, but other than that, it will be the same as it has always been.

This year, registration will be available online at garrettsvillesummerfest.com/tractor beginning on June 4, 2019. Registering in person can be done at McCumbers Brady Realty, 8118 Main Street, Garrettsville or at SkyLanes Bowling. You may also register on the day of the parade at the line-up. Registration is FREE, however a bag of non- perishable food or a monetary donation to the Nelson-Garrettsville Community Cupboard would be greatly appreciated.

Commemorative, limited edition Summerfest Tractor Parade t-shirts will be sold on-line and it is recommended that you purchase / pick-up at the Weekly Villager starting on June 18th. Those who register on the day of the event may not receive a t-shirt, depending on availability. The Weekly Villager is located at 8088 Main Street Garrettsville Oh 44231

The theme to this year’s tractor parade is “Surf’s up at Garrettsville Summerfest.” Tractor owners are encouraged to decorate their tractors to the theme. There will be awards given for the following categories: Most unique, Oldest Tractor, Best of Show with pull behind wagon, Best Tractor decorated to the theme and tractor driven the farthest.

The parade will step off at noon on Saturday, June 29, 2019 from J.A. Garfield School. Tractors can begin arriving at 9am, especially those who are planning on registering the day of the event.

So drag those tractors in from the field, get them parade-ready and join us for the biggest tractor parade in northeast Ohio. Ladies and gentlemen, let’s start those engines and hear them rumble as they invade the village of Garrettsville on June 29th.
