G-H Rotary Report

427

Yard sales over, the Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary was up for “business as usual”, which included the following:

A well-attended lockbox event at Windham’s open house on May 16–nine boxes were spoken for, others are under consideration. Garfield scholarships have been presented, Windham scholarship will be next. Preparations for the Storybook Walk are proceeding; sponsorships are still available; signage and maintenance issues are being finalized. Officeholder information for next year needs to be presented to the district–John Crawford continued as youth liaison. Casey Timmons as treasurer, Jeff Drebus as secretary; other positions are still open. Technology issues are still out there–updates are in the works. The bridge mural site will be powerwashed before painting begins–weather still an issue. GHR will be making a donation for the RYLA cook-out. Could there be some assistance for the Renaissance Center in dealing with their building issues? GHR will be making a wreath presentation at Park Cemetery on Memorial Day as well as being represented in the parade. The Centennial Dinner, fast approaching, will be discussed on June 1.

Happy Bucks arrived for a returning son, a real estate listing, successful awards presentation, new trees, a Florida trip, a grandbaby, a great-grandbaby book, a son’s award, a novel truck use, berry bushes.

It’s all good.
