The May 4, 2026 meeting of Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary boasted the presence of a visitor–Kim Ewell of Hiram–who offered some information on the new Downtown Hiram effort in that village. Additionally, scholarship entries from Windham were read and top essays were chosen. Financials were reviewed. There was a progress report on the Storybook Trail project at the park; display plaque posts are in, sponsorships are still open, S & K has offered the use of a posthole digger for the placement of the displays–specifics to be determined.
The 100th anniversary celebration will take place in two parts, the dinner by invitation (district officials and Friends of Rotary) and the community event at the park. There will be a communication seminar online on May 19. District 630 is emphasizing a “250 Acts of Kindness” program. RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) is coming to Hiram College, GHR will be assisting; two students from Garfield and Windham will be attending. The abutment mural project awaits dry weather. GHR will not have a booth at SummerFest.
It’s all good.
