The “Club of Action”–Garrettsville-Hiram Rotary, swung into it on April 20, 2026 with a whole list of projects and activities, to wit :
The StoryWalk Project (in conjunction with the Portage County Park District and the Portage County Library District) has a new design and will be seeking individual, organization and/or commercial sponsors for each of the installations.
The Lockbox Project is ramping up; see notice in The Villager.
Preparations for new members are awaiting paperwork completion; induction to be scheduled.
The bridge abutment mural project is still ahead; there may have to be additional primer and pressure wash applications. It awaits the muralist.
The latest GHR social gathering will be held at Slim & Jumbo’s on April 29–appetizers and 1st drink for attendees being offered. Y’all come ‘n’ see.
D McCumbers is planting flowers at village entrance signs–colorful. A repeat is needed at the gazebo–coming up.
The Riverside Park Project is in abeyance to a sheriff’s sale, a grant writer’s participation and a budget. May have to wait for design and/or donation issues.
Happy Bucks hit the table for husband’s health (grateful, thankful, blessed), the staff at UH Portage Medical Center, a grandbaby (all of them, really), a son who is a cook, wedding shopping, an All-Star basketball game…and a star, condolences & farewells, house preps.
It’s all good.
