Last Wednesday, Crestwood High School Key Club hosted a special Trunk or Treat event, which was free and open to community members. Trick or treaters in a variety of costumes turned up that evening to gather treats and have good-natured tricks with the individuals and organizations whose vehicles and treats comprised the event. One group in attendance, the Crestwood Education Association, was pleased to participate again this year.

“Our members truly care about the students and families we serve, and we love having opportunities to connect with them outside of the school day,” shared Daphney Miller, CEA Vice President. “Being an educator is about so much more than what happens inside the classroom, and we’re always excited to be part of events that bring our community together.”  This event gathered Crestwood students of all ages and local families for an evening of Halloween fun, with children trick-or-treating throughout the school campus.

Participating in events like this is an opportunity to connect with students and families outside of the classroom and continue building positive relationships throughout the Crestwood community. “It’s always fun to see our students outside of school, especially when they’re dressed up and having such a great time with their families,” Jordan Franz, CEA Member added. “We’re grateful for opportunities like this to give back to the community that supports our schools and educators throughout the year.”

In addition to the opportunity for kids to collect candy and toys, students and their families were treated to musical performances by CHS and CMS award-winning bands. In addition, senior Scarlet Guard members were also recognized that evening, to the delight of family, friends, princesses, witches, and some super heroes.
