Mark your calendar for Wednesday, September 2nd to join in as the Crestwood Community Center (CCC) officially opens the doors to the public at their new location in Mantua. From now on, the Crestwood Community Center’s home is located at the Crestwood’s Central Office (10880 John Edward Drive in Mantua). In this new location, the community center will now have dedicated space in rooms 114 & 115. And that day, you’re invited for light refreshments, games and to tour the new space.
Be there for the ribbon cutting with Mantua Shalersville Chamber of Commerce at 1 PM. CCC organizer Rosemary Krupar encourages folks to attend, sharing, “Your presence will make an impact for our future plans.” Please note that the CCC hours of operation will be each Wednesday from 10 am – 4 pm, with programs and activities geared to inform, engage, and entertain. But the fun in Mantua isn’t limited to just Wednesdays.
On Thursday, September 10th, folks of all ages are invited to experience ‘Moonlight & Magic in Mantua’. In this evening event that runs from 5 – 8 pm, you’ll have the opportunity to journey through town, shopping and sipping while you discover magical ingredients to create your very own spell jar. Then, at 10 am on Friday, September 11th, folks will experience a little glitz and glamour, courtesy of the CCC’s Book Club at Jake’s Upper Room. This month’s book is “Glitz, Glam, and a Damn Good Time: How Mamie Fish, Queen of Gilded Age, Parted Her Way to Power” by Jennifer Wright.
On Wednesday, September 30th, the CCC will host a Fall Fest, which will include an immunization clinic provided by Portage Health District from 9 – 10 am. During that time, those with health insurance will receive free Covid & Flu shots. Don’t forget to RSVP for a lunch and learn session provided by Rebecca Moore & Boulder Crossing.
