Charles becomes Sarchione

In September before the leaves began to turn, a Garrettsville institution with a long history changed hands, moving from one family to another. The Charles Auto Family, the Chevrolet dealership in Garrettsville, Ohio became a part of the Akron-Canton based Sarchione Auto Group.

Charles Auto Family has been in business since 1957, serving Garrettsville and the greater Cleveland market. Their dedication to customer service and sales performance earned them the prestigious General Motors Mark of Excellence Award in 2017.

Charles Auto Family has made an impact in the local community through philanthropic efforts, giving back to the community that has supported them over the past 66 years. A large portion of their charitable contributions are given to local schools, Hattie Larlham’s organization for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Saint Ambrose Church, and Leadership Portage County.

Sarchione Auto Group began as a small car lot in Alliance, Ohio, and has been family-owned and operated for over 100 years. The organization is run by brothers John and Joe Sarchione. Joe oversees their newest dealership in Garrettsville; he could not be reached for comment.

The group now operates six new car dealerships and one pre-owned car dealership in the Akron-Canton area, representing Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Ford, and Lincoln. This newest acquisition gives Sarchione access to Garrettsville and the greater Cleveland market as well. The new location transitioned to Sarchione Chevrolet II and will remain at 10851 North Street in the heart of Garrettsville.
