Betty Zarza of Sagamore Hills, OH

1744

Our dear sister Betty quietly slipped into eternal rest on December 14, 2018. She was born in West Virginia on October 23, 1941. Betty was the middle daughter of seven children born to Glen and Wanda (Mace) Duffield.

She moved to Ohio with her family in 1953, where she continued her education and graduated from James A. Garfield High School in 1959. She lived in Sagamore Hills the last forty years. Betty was very much a “People Person” and worked all her life in the service industry. Eventually, she owned and operated her own business called Duffer’s Pub along with her best friend and companion Charles Duffy. Betty loved her flowers, crossword puzzles, and sending cards to her family and friends. She leaves behind to mourn her passing brothers Charles (Elaine) Duffield, Donald (Donna) Duffield; and sisters Wilma (Raymond) Mitchell, Mary Paul (Danny Bihari), and Darlene Duffield (Dennie Pochedly); also many nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her parents; brother James Duffield; and companion Charles Duffy. Although another light has gone dark in our family, I have no doubt mom and dad, brother Jim, and Duff are holding lanterns leading Betty to join them in Heaven. Per Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
