Art on the Hill Presents 2026 Photo Contest

573

For the 13th year, Downtown Mantua Revitalization Corporation’s Art on the Hill & Wine Tasting Too will sponsor a Photo Contest at their Arts and Crafts Street Festival on July 12 from 10 to 6 o’clock.  Everyone has photos they’ve taken during the year that they absolutely love and often share with friends and family.  This is a chance for all to share their photos with a larger community.

Any age may enter photos, Pre-K through Adult, both amateur and professional.  To help the judge, we ask photographers to enter their picture in one of six categories: People/Portraits, Pet/Animals, Events/Place, Landscapes, Nature, and if your photo doesn’t seem to belong in any of these categories, enter it in Other.  There have been many fine art and photojournalistic photos entered in these categories over the years.

A professional photographer has agreed to be this year’s judge.  Students will be judged against students, amateur adults will be judged separately from professional adults.  Not everyone can receive recognition but there will be many ways excellent beautiful photos will be recognized.

In addition to the judging of photos, festival attendees can vote for their favorite photo to win a People’s Choice Award.  Again this year DMRC will choose 13 photos of the Mantua area to be used in their annual calendar. For the first time, Rotary Club of Mantua will choose a photo of historic Mantua to be made into a jigsaw puzzle that will be made available for purchase.

Entry forms and information will be available in several shops in Mantua Village or go to Downtown Mantua Revitalization’s website at www.revitalizemantua.org to obtain the form on our Events/Art on the Hill page.  It will download to your computer.  All photos, either color or black and white, should be printed to an 8 X 10 size and mounted in a matte board.  A $5.00 entry fee for each photo is asked.  Make sure you affix the entry information to the back.  Photos and fees and entry forms can be left at either Jake’s Restaurant or Jake’s Market beginning July 1 through July 10 or bring them to the festival from 8:00 to 9:45 on July 11 to the Five Five Studio in the old Granary Building.

Proceeds from the Photo contest and Art on the Hill benefit Downtown Mantua Revitalization Corporation and will be used to support the Village of Mantua.
