September offers beautiful late summer days with pleasant temperatures and bright sunshine, making it a perfect time to sign up for Rotary Club of Mantua’s 5th Annual Poker Paddle. A Poker Paddle is just like a Poker Run, only on water, in a kayak.

On Saturday September 12, participating kayakers can paddle the scenic Upper Cuyahoga River from Camp Hi in Hiram to Buchert Park in Mantua Village. Along their way down river, paddlers collect a five card poker hand. Back at Buchert Park the hands are read and the top three winning hands earn cash.
Poker Paddle participants may bring their own kayaks or rent one from Camp Hi in Hiram. There is a $35 entry fee per paddler for the event. Families are welcome and there is no charge those for under 18 years old, but the Poker game is reserved for adults only.
Visit Mantua Rotary’s website, www.mantuarotary.org for information and online registration. Just download our trifold for details. On-line registration may be completed through September 10. Walk-in kayakers are welcome and may pay in cash, check, or use our website to pay—just show us your receipt.
Proceeds from this event benefit the Rotary Club of Mantua and allow them to fund their various service projects, especially their funding of the Crestwood Safety Town program held every August for rising kindergarteners.
