Dale R. Ochwat, 70, of Garrettsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on July 23, 2026, surrounded by his immediate family. Born on June 17, 1956, he leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love, dedication, and memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew him.

Dale was a graduate of Garfield High School, Class of 1974, and went on to attend The Ohio State University College of Agriculture, where he further developed the passion for farming that would remain with him throughout his life.

Dale had a lifelong love for farming and found great joy behind the wheel of a tractor. The land, the outdoors, and the simple moments spent working with his hands brought him happiness and peace. He also loved fishing and boating, enjoying time on the water and creating lasting memories with those closest to him.

Dale was proud to continue the legacy of Al’s High Tech, Inc., a company founded by his father, Albert J. Ochwat. Dale carried on the success of the business with the same dedication, determination, and strong work ethic that had been established before him. He truly loved his work, took great pride in the company’s continued success, and valued the relationships he built with customers, employees, and everyone he worked with throughout the years.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Elaine J. Ochwat and Albert J. Ochwat.

He is survived by his longtime fiancée, Kelly Misterka; her children, Brittany and Jon; his children: Kellie Ochwat (TJ Smith), Stacie Ochwat (Mark Cartwright), Christina Ochwat, Albert Ochwat (Jolene), and Dale R. Ochwat II (Dr. Alyssa Ochwat). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Hank and Max (children of Albert and Jolene), and Amaryllis and Dale III (children of Dale II and Dr. Alyssa Ochwat); his sister, Dr. Lynn Meffen (Scott Meffen); his niece, Lauren Meffen; his nephews, Scott Meffen Jr. and Robert Meffen; along with extended family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Dale will be remembered for his love of farming, tractors, fishing, boating, and the outdoors, as well as his commitment to family and the legacy he helped continue. He was a man who valued hard work, keeping his word, and taking pride in everything he did. His impact will live on through the family he loved, the business he helped grow, and the countless memories he created.

Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing Dale’s final moments were spent peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his family. His legacy will continue through the generations that follow him and the many lives he touched along the way.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Ochwat private residence. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Please reach out to the family for location details.
