Maplewood Career Center’s Adult Education Department is offering evening programs for adults to further their education. The Medical Assisting Program is new and qualifies for the Ohio Work Ready Grant Scholarship for adults.
The Medical Assisting Program will start on Monday, September 21, 2026. This class will run Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 6 pm to 9 pm for 33 weeks. Learn medical terminology, lab procedures, anatomy & physiology, basic phlebotomy, office procedures, pharmacology, communication skills, and more. Receive a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Certification.
Most of our programs qualify for the Ohio Work Ready Scholarship, Lozick Foundation Scholarship, or the Pell Grant. Along with scholarships we also offer no interest payment plans. Additional programs include: Dental Assisting; Medical Billing and Coding; Phlebotomy; Industrial Maintenance, Modular Industrial Maintenance Electrical, Fluid Power or Mechanical; Industrial Maintenance Automation Controls Technology (PLC Programming); Precision Machining; Modular Welding or Welding Technologies.
There are additional classes, such as: Cosmetology; Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Office; Cooking classes and more. Classes are throughout the year.
